※ Those who apply for Conservation Science field MUST bring samples, specimens or artifacts to conduct the research

QUALIFICATION OF APPLICANT 

(1) Currently employed by a national or public cultural heritage institution 

(2) Ability to complete the ICPC curriculum in English 

(3) Must be physically fit and not require regular medication or medical treatment 

(4) Eligible to travel abroad without any legal restrictions 

(5) Ability to conduct independent research on a full-time basis for the duration of the program

* The certificate of employment should be attached with the application form. 

APPLICATION FORMS 

○ All completed application forms should be submitted to NRICH in PDF format. 

○ NRICH will select participants after a thorough review of the application forms, supporting documents, and research proposals. 

(1) Part 1 (Application) Applicants should provide accurate contact information, including a mailing address, email, and phone number (with the country code) where they can be reached directly. 

(2) Part 2 (Research plan) should be written based on the participant’s individual research interests, with reference to NRICH’s research topics. 

(3) Part 3 (Terms and Conditions) should be reviewed and signed by the applicant. 

(4) Part 4 (Medical Report) should be completed by the applicant. 

(5) Part 5 (Official Endorsement) should be issued by the Director (Head) of the applicant’s institution to confirm the applicant’s academic qualifications, professional experience, current position and duties, as well as the applicant’s potential for continued contribution to the institution. 

(6) Part 6 (Certificate of employment) should be attached with the application form. 

※ Except for the applications of selected participants, all submitted applications will be deleted after the selection process. 

※ All fields in the application form should be completed with accurate and truthful information and supported by authentic documents. 

※ A confirmation email will be sent to acknowledge receipt of the application. 

SUBMISSION 

○ Only electronic applications (electronic copies of the original application) will be accepted. Please note that printed applications sent by mail will NOT be accepted.

APPLICATION PERIOD : From March 4 to April 17, 2026

○ Applications should be submitted by Friday April 17, 2026, 18:00 (KST) 

SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION 

○ Selection results will be posted on the NRICH ICHC webpage and sent to individual applicants via email on May 6, 2026. 

○ Selected candidates must confirm their participation by replying to the NRICH email within one week to finalize their selection.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT (CONDITIONS OF GRANTS) 

○ NRICH will provide support for participants’s round-trip airfare, accommodation, and living expenses; however, costs already covered by the participant’s home country or institution will be excluded. ○ NRICH will provide basic health and accident insurance coverage for the participants; however, any expenses for medical treatment incurred during the stay in the Republic of Korea must be paid by the participant. 

○ It is mandatory for all participants to obtain their own international traveler’s insurance before joining the program. A copy of the insurance policy must be submitted to NRICH in advance before entering the Republic of Korea.
